「文字畫」系列

位於城市浮洲十座島嶼的核心位置,以民間畫家洪通的「文字畫」影像與作品輸出為主軸,同時對應蕭壠兒童美術館的剪紙,除了突顯洪通文字畫中色彩強烈、符號越界的童稚性格與未來幻想的風格,轉換出一種「脫廟宇」、「後祭祀」的陌異童趣,也指向道教符籙、玩偶陣頭、廟宇建築、花草樹木和天地宇宙觀的影響,呈現「交陪」聯境中,最為突出的交會對峙點。在朝向1970年代因為英語漢聲雜誌《ECHO》報導而浮現的民間藝術之餘,重新面對民間藝術近未來的精神場域。(龔卓軍)
HUNG Tung

"Calligraphy Paintings" series

This island is located at the center of the ten islands in the Urban Archipelago Project. On the island, images and works of Hung Tung’s “calligraphy paintings” are the focus of design. The work also responds to the paper cutting artworks in Soulangh Children’s Museum of Art. It highlights the childlike traits, including bright colors, cross-field symbols, and fantastic futurism styles in Hung’s calligraphic works, presenting a “de-temple,” and “post-festival” art style. In addition, it showcases the most remarkable features in Kau-Puê: Taoist sorcery, puppets in processions, temples’ architectures, plants and trees, and influence of Taoist world views. As folk art emerged because of the coverage of ECHO magazines by Echo Publishing in 1970s, the work faces forward folk art and re-examines the spiritual field of it in the near future. 1920年出生於南鯤鯓;卒於1987年。因家貧無法上學而不識字,以打零工為業,從事漁民、乩童等工作。1970年,五十歲那年對繪畫產生興趣,曾於曾培堯畫室習畫前後長達一年半。1972年他掛在南鯤鯓五王廟旁的作品,神祕的文字畫與用色豐富的細密畫風,意外引起英語漢聲雜誌《ECHO》的採訪編輯黃春明、黃永松等人的注意,洪通引領他們回到昏暗畫室參觀,後黃春明遂以「瘋狂藝術家」為題加以報導,造成了接下來1970年代的「洪通熱」。1976年其作品先後於臺北美國新聞處林肯中心、高雄大統百貨舉辦個展,並出版《洪通繪畫素描集》,之後旋即獨居閉門創作。
HUNG Tung | born in 1920 in Nankunshen, and died in 1987. Hung Tung was born into a poor family and has no money for school. Illiterate, he made his living by doing part-time jobs as a fisher, Tongji and others. In 1970, when Hung was 50, he grew an interest in painting and later learned painting in Pei-Yao TSENG’s studio for up to 18 months. Then he displayed his calligraphic paintings beside Wuwang Temple, Nankunshen. In 1972, these mysterious, colorful, and delicate works accidentally drew the attention of ECHO magazine’s editors, including Chun-Ming HUANG and Yong-Song HUANG. Hung led the editors to his dark studio, and later Chun-Ming Huang covered Hung and his works in an article titled “A Mad Painter,” which resulted in a trend of Hung’s works and art style in 1970s. In 1976, Hung’s works were exhibited in Lincoln Center of American Information Center, Taipei and President Department Store, Kaohsiung, and The Collection of Hung Tung’s Sketch Works was published. Then Hung stopped to show himself before the public at once and started to create works on his own.
