林育正 LIN Yu-Cheng 

1979年生於台北,畢業於國立台灣藝術大學雕塑學系,2017年獲臺南新藝獎。其作品揭示了在生活角落中不斷醞釀、輪轉、消長的無數細緻的物體系統,挑戰著我們對生活空間的理解,借低科技性的機械組裝,開發許多物體的生命線索,以某種生命機能的再製帶出頹廢與雜碎中的勃勃生氣。

 

駐村成果展《微塵浮花》(Tiny Dust and Floating Flowers)

「微塵」意味著漂浮在展場的思緒。「浮花」則象徵著虛幻而短暫的美好事物,亦表現灑落在空間的諸多組構物件。藉由一種看似隨機卻又帶有隱性連結的空間布局,試圖來喚起觀者自身生命經驗片段之連結。故此次展覽以「微塵、浮花」為名。

透過藝術家的翻製、模仿或現成物之直接挪用,勾起我們對於生活瑣事的熟悉。這些日常生活物件的放置,看似寫實地再現了生活當下,但在每個真實顫動的表象底層,那不合理的物體錯置,其實是一種「偽製」的徹底實踐。這種「偽製」消解了物件的日常功能性,牽引出關於物體背後更深一層的系統聯想。

Yu-Cheng Lin, born in Taipei, graduated from Department of Sculpture, National Taiwan University of Arts. He was one of the awardees of Next Art Tainan 2017. Lin’s works reveal various object systems that continuously incubate and develop in the corners of life, challenging our understandings of living space. The assembly of simple mechanical components provides clues on many objects. This exhibition is an attempt to recreate the functionality of objects and bring out the vitality of chaos and debris.

Through the process of replication, imitation, and direct usage of the existing objects, the artist triggers our familiarity with daily trivialities. The placement of these ordinary objects seemingly portrays the moments in our daily lives, however, behind the façade of reality, the unreasonable misplacement of objects is actually a complete practice of “falsehood”. This “falsehood” eliminates daily functionality of objects and generates systematic associations behind the appearance of objects.

“Tiny Dust” represents the thoughts lingering in exhibition space. “Floating Flowers” symbolize the temporary and wonderful illusions and the various objects scattered in this space. The design of the exhibition space incorporates randomness and subtle linkage; it tries to awaken and link audiences’ personal life experiences to this space. This is the reason the exhibition is called “Tiny Dust and Floating Flowers”.
