A plane realizes human’s dream of flight while a bird is endowed with wings by nature. Through the installation ‘Plane Birds’, the artist hoped to achieve harmonic coexistence among all beings, instead of suppressing other species. During his residency, Lee had been fascinated with the extensive spaces and the 14 gigantic warehouses. Different from the immovable arrangement of fixation, the artist placed thousands of plane birds everywhere in the artist village by screws. You can even find them on the bench made of driftwoods or on the trains, always ready to take off and soar in the sky.
