「流水漫過那個地方而洗去它們的痕跡」—— 蕭壠城記
這是一段1623年的描述，關於一趟走訪，或更像是個旅程。在將近400年後的2021，旅程依然在人們的行徑中持續。我以佳里為中心向外探訪，於灰藍公路上窮繞，只為某個目的或不為某個目的，在前往和通過的位移中，與思路相逢。頂著鹽分地帶的曝曬，望向稀疏的植披景觀，時間在遼闊的風景前變緩了，事物正在自然運行中汰換，而我本要找尋的肪片龜，竟已成為不再合時宜之物。
藝術家簡介：
紀凱淵，生於台灣高雄，目前就讀於台灣藝術大學當代視覺文化博士班。近幾年藉由國內外駐村的機會，持續關注「空間∕地方」與「人∕文化」的關係，並使用日常生活中的物件作為發展作品的主要媒介。2015年獲選「ACC亞洲文化協會獎助計畫」至紐約駐村，另曾駐村於韓國GCC京畿道創作中心、奧地利Schaumbad藝術村、紐約ISCP國際藝術工作室、洛杉磯18街藝術特區等地。2014年獲得台北美術獎首獎，並於2017年在台北市立美術館舉辦個展。

This is an account from a visit in 1623, but reads more like an expedition. Nearly 400 years after, in 2021, this journey continues in our paths. With Jiali as my base, I wandered endlessly on the Blue-Grey Highway for a purpose or none at all, and in my displacement of going forward and passing through, I was met with my thoughts. Exposed to salt zones, looking at the sparse vegetation, time slows before the vast landscape, things abolished or replaced in the laws of nature, and the feng-pian gui that I search is now of a bygone era.
CHI Kai-Yuan
Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, I am a PhD student in the Graduate School of Contemporary Visual Culture and Practice at National Taiwan University of Arts. With my participation in artist residencies in recent years, I continue to explore the relationship between “space / place” and “people / culture,” utilizing quotidian objects as the main medium in my work. I was selected by to participate in the residency program in New York by Asian Cultural Council, and have completed residencies at Gyeonggi Creation Center (Korea, 2018), Schaumbad (Austria, 2017), International Studio & Curatorial Program (New York, 2016), 18th Street Arts Center (Los Angeles, 2015). In 2014, I was awarded the Grand Prize of Taipei Arts Awards, and held my solo exhibition at Taipei Fine Arts Museum in 2017.
