《無敵翻譯機》The Most Powerful Translator

▎展 覽 總 說  ▎

人類出生時尚未具備語言能力，是透過五感來認識周遭環境，並以視覺透過圖像引導思考為主。直至學會說話能力，語言逐漸成為互動溝通的主要方式，人類的思維才會逐漸從圖像思考轉向語文溝通。

圖像、語文在大腦內應用的比例也在因人而異之下，發展出對事物有不同面向的思考切入，因而產生不同思維的表現。也因轉變過程以著循序漸進式的發展，儘管我們很難在當下察覺思維的改變，但透過各自擅長領域的追求及表現下，圖像與語文如同人類進化史的左腦及右腦，分工協力將文明開發並推進。

然而目前人類生活以語文交流及思考為主流，在教育制度及社會架構上偏重語文發展之下，除了逐漸限縮圖像思考者的發展，也將減損人類思維的多樣性。

此外，「語文」會隨著時間演進及分化，如何將欲傳遞的訊息可以跨越十萬年後，卻依然能維持其訊息的正確性？或許回到圖像表現的溝通傳遞，會更為精準。

在這快速變遷的世界，無論是個人與團體的世代用語汰換、訊息傳遞載體更新、事件紀錄的精準，甚至人與人之間的情感思維交流，#圖像的表達才是最無敵的翻譯機。

▎Overview  ▎

When humans are born, they do not yet possess language abilities; instead, they use their five senses to perceive the surrounding environment, primarily relying on visual images to guide their thinking. It is only after learning to speak that language gradually becomes the main mode of communication, and human thought shifts from visual to linguistic processing. The balance between imagery and language in the brain varies from person to person, resulting in different approaches to thinking and diverse expressions of thought. 

This gradual transition means that while we may not be able to perceive changes in our thinking at the moment, the pursuit and expression of our individual strengths reveal how imagery and language, much like the left and right hemispheres of the brain in human evolution, work together to advance civilization. However, with language-based communication and thinking dominating human life today, and with educational systems and social structures favoring linguistic development, the growth of visual thinkers is increasingly restricted, which in turn diminishes the diversity of human thought.

Additionally, since language evolves and diverges over time, how can we ensure that a message intended for transmission will still retain its accuracy tens of thousands of years from now? Perhaps returning to visual communication may be a more precise way to convey messages.

In this rapidly changing world, whether it’s the generational language shifts within individuals and groups, the constant updating of information transmission mediums, the accuracy of event records, or even the exchange of emotions and thoughts between people, visual expression is truly the most powerful translator.
